Delete your data
Last updated 5 October 2026
To ask for deletion, email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my RestPOS data" and the name of the restaurant. We confirm your request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days.
Staff and waiter app accounts
This covers owners, managers, cashiers, kitchen staff and waiters who sign in to RestPOS or the RestPOS Waiter app.
- Ask your restaurant first. The owner or a manager can turn off your sign-in straight away, and can remove the waiter phone you used.
- Email us at [email protected] to delete your account. Because your work records are part of the restaurant's business records, we let the restaurant know before we delete your account.
- On your phone, signing out of the waiter app removes its sign-in tokens, and uninstalling it removes everything the app stored on the phone.
What we delete
- Your name and email address on your sign-in account.
- Your password, PIN and two-factor sign-in details.
- Your signed-in sessions and the records of phones registered to you.
What we keep, and why
- The restaurant's business records that mention you, such as which staff member took an order or closed a register, stay with the restaurant for as long as tax and accounting law requires it to keep them.
- Security audit entries that show changes made from your account stay for as long as the restaurant's account exists, so its security history remains trustworthy.
- Backups can hold deleted data until they are replaced, which happens on a limited rolling period.
A whole restaurant
The restaurant owner can ask us to close the restaurant's account and delete its data by emailing [email protected] from the owner's email address. We confirm the request with the owner first, and we can give you an export of your data before anything is deleted.
- We delete: staff accounts, devices, menus, stock, suppliers, customers and other restaurant data on our servers.
- We keep: only what the law requires us to keep, such as our own invoices to you, and backups until they are replaced.
- Your tills: each desktop till keeps a local copy of the restaurant's data. Uninstall RestPOS from each till and delete its data folder to remove that copy.
Before closing an account, remember that you may need your sales and tax records for several years. Ask for an export first.
Guests of a restaurant
If a restaurant that uses RestPOS holds your details, for example for delivery, loyalty points or a reservation, the restaurant controls that data. Please ask the restaurant to delete it. If you cannot reach the restaurant, email us and we will pass your request on and help the restaurant respond.
Demo requests
If you booked a demo and want us to delete your details, email [email protected] from the address you used, or tell us the phone number you gave us.
More about how we handle data is in the privacy policy.
